Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of OrmbelCord (“Ormbel”, “we”, “us”), a self-hostable community chat app providing text, voice, video, and screen-share. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. Your account

You must provide a valid email and keep your password secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account. You must be old enough to legally agree to these terms under the laws of your country.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Ormbel to:

• Post scam, gambling, or fraudulent content, or impersonate others.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Share illegal content, or content that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Attempt to disrupt the service (flooding, exploiting bugs, unauthorized access).

Servers you create are yours to moderate, but server owners, admins, and mods must enforce these terms within their own servers. See our Trust & Safety page for how reporting and moderation work.

3. Content & moderation

You retain ownership of the content you post. You grant Ormbel a license to store and transmit it as needed to operate the service (e.g. delivering your messages to other participants in a server or DM). We use automated filtering and in-app reporting to catch obvious abuse (see the Safety page), and server moderators/admins/owners can remove content and take action (kick, ban, timeout) within their own servers, all of which is recorded in an audit log. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms platform-wide.

4. OrmbelAI

OrmbelAI is an optional, DM-only assistant. Messages you send it are used to generate a reply and are not used to train third-party models beyond what your configured AI provider does with API requests. Don’t send secrets or sensitive personal data to it.

5. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, especially repeated abuse, scam/gambling activity, or attempts to disrupt the service. You can delete your account at any time from account settings.

6. No warranty

Ormbel is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We aren’t liable for content posted by other users.

7. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
